Le Touquet Mer |
Excellent but very tough links course in Europe’s top 100 courses. Fierce rough, deep bunkers and an almost ever-present wind make this a tough but ever popular test of golf - you'll need to be on your mettle. It’s a high quality golf course but don’t expect 44 points. |
Le Touquet Foret |
Sister course to the Mer - less tough and more forgiving parkland course but always well conditioned. It’s no pushover but it makes for a good place to play to relax from the rigours of La Mer. |
Hardelot Pines |
Maybe the archetypal French course and also in Europe’s top 100. Tight pine lined fairways, lots of bunkers and quick tricky greens make this delightful course a true test of golf. Always in superb condition and a staunch favourite with our customers. |
Hardelot Dunes |
A newer course than the Pines and a touch less popular but it is no less good – again a top 100 course in Europe. More of a heathland linksy feel to it and it is more open than the pines but has the same magnetic bunkers and slick greens. |
Belle Dune |
Not old but a captivatingly beautiful course set in the Marquenterre bird sanctuary. The course has been built with enormous care and bogeys (and worse) are easy to come by as the course meanders through dunes and heathland. The few birdie chances need to be grabbed to achieve a score. Not many buggies so reserve in advance. 75th ranked in Europe. |
St Omer |
A genuine championship venue as you would expect from the home of the French PGA. Very nearly 7,000 yards off the back tees, the course is set in undulating meadowland with lots of trees. The water on the course is very well positioned, as are the bunkers and raised greens which demand good approach play for a good score. Buggies available and recommended. |
Wimereux |
Very good traditional links. The course is just wonderful - mostly flat in character but with all the bumps and hollows you expect on a links. Add terrific greens and a fairway irrigation system you have an excellent course for an excellent price. The course is placid in calm but bites hard in the wind - and it is often windy. Dunkerque |
Very good parkland course 15 miles east of Calais. This is a very clever well maintained golf course that will reward you for coming. It is not just a grip it and rip it course - there are some very clever holes that need thought and accuracy to prosper. Recommended. |
Arras |
Excellent parkland course and fantastic value. The opening stretch features some great water holes - not great expanses but strategically placed ponds and lakes which will demand accurate length and line. The rest of the course is parkland but a very good test. |
Nampont St Martin |
15 or so miles south of Le Touquet this is a good golf course but with lots of water as you would expect from a course set in the Picardy marshland and with the River Authie as a major feature. A very pretty spot and while it is easy to play it is not easy to play well - excellent value. |
