Limere

Genuine Tournament venue Limere is a pretty and varied parkland layout which wanders gently through established wood land. It’s a very ingenious layout with large greens but lots of shot making choice- clever dog legs provide corners to be cut off for the brave and reckless. Good and varied test of golf.

Les Aisses

Lovely course set in ancient hunting grounds with generous fairways and excellent greens. The course is very flat but the tantalisingly placed trees and ample bunkering make it a very good and enjoyable test of golf.

Ardree

Very popular golf course about 15 miles from Tours. Not overly long at 6,270 yards but a very good test. Nice comfortable opening holes transform as the course get tighter and tougher. There are some very good water holes and a tremendous finishing stretch from the 16th. holes.

Touraine

Excellent place to play. Lively clubhouse with a very warm welcome for visitors makes a good start and the course doesn’t disappoint. It’s a very natural looking parkland courses with streams criss crossing the course. Premium is placed on accuracy rather than raw distance – very enjoyable.

Cheverney

Straightforward but enjoyable course. Great loosener to open a trip or a place to relax after some of the tougher neighbours. It’s a very pretty parkland layout with more than a few huge bunkers to catch the unwary. Golf for fun.

Avrille

The course boasts 76 different species of maple so take it as read that the trees are a prime feature. Combination of wide fairways where you can open the shoulders and clever dog legs and very well protected greens make this with your while. The Chateau Perriere makes a fantastic backdrop.

Sept Tours

Almost a target golf course with wide fairways even through the woods but it’s your approach game and putting that will determine the outcome at Sept Tours. Very nicely presented and on course at the Hotel des Sept Tours.

Anjou Country Club

Fred Hawtree design and there aren’t many bad ones of those about. Set in ancient oak woodland with some good water features to punish wayward shots. The greens are of a very high standards and putt true and fast.
